—EDOARDO MALAGIGI “RAMMENDO” (MENDING)

It is a completely embroidered or woven surface made from panels of multi layer composite material, commonly referred to as Tetra Pak.
These thousands of modules have a special shape, resembling a flower with six petals: two small and two large. The larger petals feature small eyelets and are created using a mechanical die-cutting process.
The modules originate from used cartons, commonly disposed of in plastic or paper recycling bins, in accordance with municipal regulations.
A material that combines intelligent features with basic functionality, it folds, cuts, and handles well. As it is a combination of cellulose, plastic, and aluminum, it is both an intelligent and non-intelligent material. The effect is a large chromatic configuration achieved through the randomness of the panels’ arrangement.
The result is a vast, flat, polychromatic work to be hung like a large tapestry, with dimensions customizable to your preference.
